Today’s #VeteranOfTheDay is Army Veteran Mike Hale, who served as a radio operator during Vietnam and now provides military honors at Veterans’ funerals.
After 6 years in the Marine Corps, Mike found transition to civilian life difficult. He ended up homeless, living in his car, but turned his life around with VA programs for homeless Vets.
For a limited time all Veterans will at no cost receive the GoodTrust Premium service plan for one year (value $70). Use promo code “GoodTrustVeteran”.
The Parkinson’s Foundation and VA will host a virtual event on April 28 titled “Veterans and Parkinson’s: Social Connection & Empowerment.” Here’s information on how to register.
Established in 2007, Guitars for Vets, a non-profit organization, came together when Marine Corps Veteran Dan Van Buskirk took months of guitar lessons from Patrick Nettesheim. Through their lessons, Van Buskirk was able to learn to play the guitar and since then, the two became friends. Both realized that these lessons created an outlet for expression as well as provided a positive interaction.
Have you ever heard the saying, “the issues are in the tissues?” Stress is something that we all face, and often when that stress builds up, we can feel it in our muscles and throughout the whole body. When you feel stressed, does your body feel relaxed and at ease? Or does it feel tight and tense? I tend to feel tighter and more tense when I’m stressed, and I often feel this tightness and tension in my shoulders and neck. This can even lead to pain.
